Request a Grant Writer

Awards of up to $500 to Florida public and private school teachers who integrate agriculture-based lessons into their curriculum. Awards are intended to recognize outstanding teachers for the agriculture lessons and projects they conduct with their students. Four categories of awards are available: elementary school, middle school, high school, and middle school agriscience. From there, the funding source will pick on overall winner.

Teachers will be asked to demonstrate their methods of integrating and instructing one or more of the following national agricultural literacy themes in their classroom:

  • Agriculture and the Environment
  • Plants and Animals for Food, Fiber and Energy
  • Food, Health, and Lifestyle
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
  • Culture, Society, Economy, and Geography

Estimated Size of Grant:

The overall winner will receive a $500 honorarium and the other winners will receive $250.

Winners also win a trip to the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference. In 2020, the conference will be in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Teachers in the state of Florida are eligible to apply, including cpublic and private school teachers.
