Grants starting at $10,000 to Miami-Dade County, Florida nonprofit visual and performing arts organizations, as well as units and divisions of public entities and IHEs, to support performing and visual arts programming. Applicants must submit a preliminary proposal prior to submitting an application.

Funding Arts Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the Miami-Dade community by providing a funding source for local visual and performing arts programs.

Estimated Size of Grant:

All the grants FAN awards will be of equal value; the minimum grant will be $10,000. One grantee in each discipline (Dance, Music, Theater and Visual Arts), chosen by FAN’s membership, will receive additional funding.

Term of Contract:

The proposed program will take place in Miami-Dade County between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility Criteria for Applicant Organizations:

-Be a visual or performing arts organization or a division or unit primarily engaged in the presentation of visual or performing arts programs to the public and maintains its principal office in Miami Dade County.
-Be an active, not-for-profit Florida Corporation in good standing or be a division or unit of a not-for-profit Florida Corporation in good standing or a public entity, college or university in which that division or unit is administratively and programmatically distinct with its own mission, staff, and budget.
-Be tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code (IRS) for at least thirty-six months prior to the application and have completed at least thirty-six months of operations presenting visual or performing arts programs to the public in Miami-Dade County.
-Be currently registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs to solicit contributions unless the organization falls under the exempted categories listed in s.496.403 of the Florida Statutes (e.g. educational institution).

Restrictions:
- The applicant may not be a student visual or performing arts organization below the graduate level.
-If the applicant is an identifiable component of an umbrella organization (e.g. university, cultural organization, etc.,) the umbrella organization may not also be an applicant in this grant cycle.
-If the program is a collaborative effort among two or more organizations, the lead organization must submit the application, meet the eligibility requirements and be the funding recipient.
- FAN will not fund any production/exhibit that has been presented by the applicant organization in Miami-Dade within 5 years prior to the current FAN funding cycle unless the program is substantially different from prior presentations.

Pre-Application Information:

The FAN Grant Application procedure is a two-step process:

Step I - Preliminary Proposal: The deadline is 5 pm EDT, Friday, October 4, 2019.

Step II - Grant Application: FAN will email organizations by October 24, 2019, to advise if they are eligible to submit Step II of the application.

- The deadline for Step II (for eligible applicants) is January 10, 2020 by 5 p.m. EST.
- FAN will email Step II applicants with notification of final decisions in April 2020.
- The 24th Annual Grant Awards Luncheon will take place Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

If the program begins or ends outside of FAN’s funding cycle, FAN will only fund the portion of the programs that occurs within the funding cycle.

Each applicant may submit only one proposal.
