Grant Description
Grants of up to $2,000 to Florida nonprofit organizations in eligible areas to support Black neighborhoods. Funding is intended to support organizations, projects, and programs addressing education, health, and economic opportunity. Organizations and programs must benefit predominantly Black neighborhoods in Jacksonville (Duval County) with a priority for the following zip codes: 32202, 32204, 32206, 32208, 32209, 32218, and 32254.

The A.L. Lewis Black Opportunity & Impact Fund will support nonprofit organizations and programs/projects working within predominantly Black neighborhoods in Duval County. The overarching objective of these small grants is to empower residents to collaborate and enhance their communities by leveraging their skills, experiences and expertise to uplift community health, education, and economic opportunities.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility:
- Nonprofit organizations with current 501(c)(3) status: Organizations must be an active 501(c)3 public charity, private operating foundation, or religious institution, or have a formal agreement with a Fiscal Agent that is a 501(c)3 in order to be eligible.
- Organization size must have an annual operating budget under $150,000. Volunteer led organizations will be prioritized.

Pre-Application Information
Timeline:
- January 2, 2024: Grant application opens
- January 2, 2024 – February 9, 2024: If you need assistance with applying, either in-person, virtual, or by phone, please submit an appointment request.
- February 12, 2024: Applications due by 11:59 PM
- April 1, 2024: Notification of funding decisions are sent.
- April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025: Grant-funded projects occur
